HAZARDOUS WASTE ENGINEERING & OPERATIONS ECCI engineers have completed numerous design and construction projects in the area of hazardous waste management. Project areas range from relatively small process improvements to construction manage-ment of multi-million dollar capital improvements. Multiple individuals at ECCI were previous senior managers in the hazardous waste industry. As a result, ECCI has a vast knowledge concerning handling of hazardous materials and hazardous waste treatment technologies in general. ECCI has assessed multiple hazardous waste management facilities to establish both a market value and to identify and qualify longer-term liabilities. ECCI has managed design and construction activities for air pollution control system modifications, rotary kilns, wastewater treatment systems, areas to repack or treat extremely hazardous substances, diagnosed equipment and process failures, and managed full closure activities. Our engineers are 40-hour HAZWOPER trained and instructed in safe work practices. This includes hazardous recognition, personal protective equipment and respiratory protection to ensure appropriate safety practices are used when working with or around hazardous chemicals. Example Projects: Confidential Clients United States and Europe ECCI engineers have assisted multiple clients with evaluation of hazardous waste treatment and storage facilities as possible acquisitions. On-site assessments and record reviews have been completed for many United States facilities and many of the larger treatment facilities in Europe. ECCI has also provided technical assistance concerning materials handling and increasing productivity of thermal treatment operations in both the United States and Europe. Teris, LLC/ENSCO El Dorado, Arkansas Over 50 process modifications or upgrades have been completed to improve operations and/or lower costs.
Washington Demilitarization Company U.S. Army Pine Bluff Arsenal ECCI engineers serve as the on-site P.E. construction certification engineers for the U.S. Army project to destroy historical chemical munitions. ECCI is responsible for P.E. certification of 10 out of 33 systems being constructed. This certification ensures the systems are constructed according to both design specifications and applicable permits. ECCI engineers will also witness system shakedown and certify systems as operational.
Atlantic Research Corporation East Camden, Arkansas Design and specifications of open burn treatment equipment for waste rocket propellants was provided. The project included safety berms, storm water management and surface preparation to protect the ground from exposure to the active fuel components. Closure plans were prepared and P.E. Closure Certifications have been completed for inactive treatment areas.
