REMEDIATION

Senior ECCI engineers have had direct industry experience in the hazardous waste management industry which provides broad experience in identification and correction of releases to the environment. This experience translates into valuable skills in assessing corrective action alternatives and remediation choices.

ECCI engineers and geologists are able to effectively identify low-cost alternatives to address releases of hazardous substances or petroleum fuels. ECCI staff have worked with multiple states especially relating to voluntary clean up programs and petroleum storage tank funds. ECCI geologists are skilled at preparing reimbursement packages to utilize state "funds" to reimburse expendi-tures for containment and remediation activities.

ECCI engineers and geologists often serve as an owner’s representative in site remediation projects. This relationship allows the ECCI professionals to manage field various contractors in a manner to control overall project costs. ECCI professionals are well experienced in identification of "acceptable" levels of substances in both soil and ground water.

ECCI senior staff define the extent of petroleum releases from historic and current facilities, help with compliance issues, assess new sites by collecting background soil and ground water samples and collect geotechnical data for the design of foundations and footings for new construc-tion. In addition, ECCI is responsible for remedial activities including design, implementation and operation and maintenance of remediation systems, oil water separators and ground water depression systems.

In addition, ECCI Tulsa staff is on call 24-7-365 in the event of a spill or other catastrophic event.

The Burlington, Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company (BNSF)

ECCI senior staff and engineers help the BNSF compliance group with environmental issues at rail yards and other various sites currently or historically owned by BNSF. ECCI senior staff help the BNSF remediation group define the scopes of phase I, phase II and phase III investi-gations at active and inactive sites. In addition, ECCI conducts the aforementioned scopes of work and acts as the project manager for all stages of environmental investigations.
