Engineering Technician
The Engineering Technician will provide CAD and technical design support to our in-house engineering teams for a variety of structural, mechanical, general civil and environmental projects. This role will involve preparing drawings, coordinating with engineers, assisting with field data collection, and contributing to project execution from concept to completion.
EXAMPLE OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Prepare both rough sketches and detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D, Revit or other applicable CAD software.
Incorporate engineering markups and redlines accurately while following company CAD standards.
Assist the engineers and environmental scientists with design and detail drafting for steel and concrete structures, general civil site and drainage layouts, mechanical piping, tank and pump systems, and various details related to industrial process systems.
Perform basic calculations for material quantities, layouts, and other system design parameters to assist the engineers with project cost estimations.
Collaborate closely with engineers to understand project requirements and integrate technical feedback.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including drawing sets, revisions, markups and specifications.
Conduct site visits to gather measurements, verify existing conditions, and support field crews as needed.
Support the project team with project setup, scheduling, and quality control reviews to ensure deliverables meet deadlines and client expectations.
Prepare and review submittals with the engineers for conformance to design documents.
Participate in project meetings and represent the company in a professional manner.
Travel to project sites as required to assist with field activities and client coordination.
QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of CAD design experience in structural, mechanical, civil and/or related fields preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD software; experience with Civil 3D, Plant 3D, Revit and other relevant CAD tools is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Willingness to learn new programs, technologies, and processes.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
