Project Engineer, Mechanical

The Entry-Level Mechanical Project Engineer will assist in the planning, design, and execution of mechanical engineering projects across a variety of industrial and environmental applications. This role works closely with senior engineers and project managers to deliver quality solutions while gaining hands-on experience in project management, design, and field work.


EXAMPLE OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems, including piping, pumping ventilation, and process equipment.

  • Prepare and revise engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Conduct field inspections to collect data, verify existing conditions, and support construction activities.

  • Research materials, equipment, and technical solutions to support project designs.

  • Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and proposals for client review.

  • Support project setup, scheduling, and coordination with internal teams and external contractors.

  • Ensure project documentation is accurate, organized, and up-to-date.

  • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical systems and providing technical support during installation and commissioning.

  • Attend project meetings and represent the company in a professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).

  • 1–4 years of mechanical engineering experience (industrial field preferred).

  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months preferred.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Plant 3D or other relevant design software.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn new programs, processes and new tasks as requested, related to the mechanical field.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
